So you're 24, schools ending and you've got a contract signed for a job in Toronto. You and your partner are ready to take the next step and get a place together, but you haven't collected much furniture, and neither one of you really knows what your "style" is. Where exactly do you start with all that anyways?
For now you decide to revel in the excitement of your big girl job, that career you've always dreamed of. You imagine grabbing a coffee on your walk to work and it hits you... You can't wear leggings and a lululemon hoodie to the office every day. You need a business appropriate wardrobe and you're broke.
The excitement turns to nerves. You're not sure you are ready for all this yet. It happens fast, but embracing the chaos sure could make it fun. Right?

I think back to move-in day at residence. It was six years ago and I snuck in vodka coolers at the bottom of my laundry basket... there was safety in the comfort of knowing that the next few years of my life were mapped out and my only real concern was whether or not I would like my new roommate.
I've got to say that this current stage in life doesn't quite come with that same feeling of comfort. School was safe, it was planned, and there weren't many unanswered questions. Instead this time I am excited about the unknown, I am curious, and itching to begin the process of getting to know what adult Alexis is like. The Moments Have You is where I hope to share my experience of moving into adulthood with all of you. I will be posting my tips and tricks for furnishing a condo with a partner or friend, beginning a job downtown, building a work appropriate wardrobe on a budget and scouting out all that Toronto has to offer to us twenty somethings. I am hoping that some of you will be able to relate, share your own experiences and make use of mine.
