Vintage in Roncesvalles

Shopping Vintage in Roncesvalles Village

This past weekend we spent saturday exploring Roncesvalles Village, a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto centred around Roncesvalles Avenue, east of High Park, and north of Lake Ontario.  It's a great place to grab lunch and spend your afternoon shopping through the antique furniture stores. There are unique clothing and jewellery boutiques like the The Coal Miners Daughter  as well as the vintage gold mines stocked full of one of a kind pieces.

Once you've picked up a coffee at one of the few independent coffee shops like The Cherry Bomb, I suggest you make your way over to Queen Street West and into 96 Tears VintageOwners Colette Todoroff and Christopher Koyionis share their own incredible style with the rest of us in the newly established and ultra creative men's and women's vintage shop. This store offers a range of vintage clothing from the extreme to the practical. Vintage floral blouses hang next to shaved bear coats and black leather pirate boots. For those of us working on developing a new and improved work wardrobe, 96 Tears Vintage offers the perfect opportunity to get creative and save money on designer goods. Shopping should be fun and stores like this where the owners and creative personalities are the people on the floor helping you find that perfect outfit, are just the place to make that happen.

Why shop vintage? Well, although you can find vintage pieces that compliment the latest trends, its just as easy to find classic pieces that never go out of fashion. The other benefit to shopping vintage is that you can find those unique statement pieces that help define your style and set you apart from the crowds. Not only that, but when you shop vintage the prices usually aren't as high as newly manufactured garments, which is a great way to save money, especially when you're just starting to build a professional wardrobe.
